4th of July Detroit was 39-48, Kenta Maeda got lit up and the season seemed over, 16 games out in the division & 8 games back in the WC.
Since that day, Detroit is 36-23.
But Royce Lewis just hit a grand slam for the Twins so it’s going to be 3 back w/ 16 to go.
Team has 13 ROOKIES and 4 or 5 in everyday lineup.
Still doable.

I visited with my wife and daughter. It is extremely moving. The area is remote and very peaceful. The stone slabs with names of passengers and crew and bell tower are perfect for the site.

After sucking for 2 months, the Phillies are now 30 games over .500 with an 8 game lead on the Mets (who are also hot). The Phillies just swept Tampa Bay while missing their starting catcher, starting left fielder, starting third baseman, and DH.

The only chance I give the Mets this weekend is because Lindor woke up again with that HR. He can literally put the team on his back and carry them to two out of three.
Mets aren’t trying to catch the Phillies. They want the last wild card because then they play the Brewers…then the Dodgers. They can beat both of those teams. Yall will have to play either the Padres or the Dbags, and we know what they can do to you 😉
Worst place they can finish is second wild card and have to travel to play the even bigger dgag showboaters, the Padres. I REALLY don’t like Machado. I would like to see someone do to him what he did to the Mets SS. No one deserves it more

That plane was headed for the WH or the Capitol, most likely the Capitol given that the WH is a relatively small target for a fast moving plane and there are other barriers around it that make it hard to fly a big plane into. If it had hit the Capitol the destruction would have been immense and the cultural loss immeasurable. We dodged a bullet there, so to speak thanks to the heroism of the passengers.

At the memorial, you can listen to voicemails left by passengers to their loved ones knowing they were likely to die. Heartbreaking.
